Ilan Bluman
rider & trainer
Ilan Bluman founded Bluman Equestrian alongside his cousin Daniel and is one of Bluman Equestrian’s main trainers, coaching a variety of students, from lower-level junior and amateur jumpers to international competitors. He also continues to compete internationally himself, representing Colombia up to the five-star level and in Nations Cup competition.
Ilan is a voracious learner and has benefitted greatly from his continuing education in natural horsemanship. He has produced countless horses in the sport that have continued to excel in professional programs, as well as with junior and amateur riders.
Ilan was born on June 23, 1987 in Medellin, Colombia. He started riding at age 3, and by age 7 he started to compete in the jumper ring. He had a lot of success in the children’s and junior jumper divisions, where he was Colombian National Champion on multiple occasions.
Having won all four gold medals in the Colombian Nationals Games – part of the Olympic Cycle – he turned professional in 2008, successfully balancing his professional career while in college in Medellin. He graduated in 2011 with a degree in Agriculture Administration.
