Daniel Bluman
international show jumper
At the head of Bluman Equestrian is three-time Olympian Daniel Bluman, who founded the BE operation alongside his cousin Ilan. A fierce competitor, Daniel has remained vocal about the importance of horsemanship and oversees all aspects of the business while also traveling on the international show circuit. At the heart of every show jumping athlete should be a pure love for the horse, and that’s why Daniel and the entire Bluman Equestrian team welcome riders at every level of the sport that wish to learn and foster their passion.
Daniel was born on March 15, 1990 in Medellin, Colombia; his father Samuel is an entrepreneur, and his mother Orly is a psychologist and social worker. His grandfather is a Holocaust survivor who spent three years in Auschwitz, moving to Colombia after liberation. Daniel’s parents set standards and taught both him and his brother Steven the meanings of dedication, professionalism and dependability, values by which Daniel leads with integrity and gratitude.
Inspired by his older cousins who loved and showed horses, Daniel started riding at the age of 3. His youthful passion for horses rapidly developed into a real lifestyle. As a young rider, Daniel competed in Colombia, Germany and in the U.S., training with some of the top jumping athletes in the world—including Nelson Pessoa, with whom he trained in Belgium for a few years. This led to competing at some of the best competitions in the world.
Daniel is now a three-time Olympian, representing his Jewish roots and second country Israel at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, and has been ranked among the world’s top 10 jumping athletes. His many riding achievements include The Rolex Grand Prix of Rome, The Rolex Grand Prix of Central Park, The Hampton Classic Grand Prix, and multiple five-star grand prix wins at the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), among other victories.
Daniel and his wife Ariel believe in the importance of giving back, and they collectively support various charitable organizations, including the Urim Therapeutic Center, which utilizes equine assisted therapies to treat patients of all ages dealing with complex PTSD, who live in the Gaza envelope area.
The Blumans have also supported the UJA Federation, INTRA (Israel National Therapeutic Riding Association) and Antorchas de Vida, a foundation that focus on nutrition and education of kids in state of poverty in Medellin, Colombia. They also created the "Ride The Future" program, which helps pair professionals with riders who are interested in continuing a career in the sport but may not have the means or tools to get far.
